Holly House is a household within the Society for Creative Anachronism. Our members are primarily located within the lands of the Barony of Lions Gate and Shire of Eisenmarche, in the Principality of Tir Righ and the Kingdom of An Tir (this is the area modernly known as the Greater Vancouver area of British Columbia, Canada), although currently we also have one member from the incipient shire of Ravensley, one member from the Kingdom of Northshield, and one of our members is about to move to the Kingdom of Drachenwald.

Holly House is based in the time period of 850 - 1066 AD, in the area known at the time as Yorvik, which is now known as York. In this time period, Yorvik was a great trading centre, and would see travellers from all over western Europe, particularly from the Scandinavian lands of the east. As a result, our household contains members with both Norse personas as well as some with Anglo-Saxon personas.

The focus of Holly House within the Society for Creative Anachronism is mainly service to the Society, although many of our members are also very focused on Arts and Sciences, as can be seen in our projects section. We also like to balance our service with a love of practical authenticity and many of our members can be found researching and practicing arts that can then be taught to other household members. We also have many members who hold offices at various levels within the Society.

The "motto" of our household is

which when translated into English from the Latin means "Ever green, ever true, bloody in season".
